📝 Product Description

The iLC212 uncooled IR imaging module, also known as the uncooled thermal module, is radiometric-capable and features an available infrared non-contact temperature measurement function. It integrates an exceptionally small 256x192 / 12μm wafer level package (WLP) infrared detector that captures the long-wave infrared (LWIR) spectrum ranging from 8 to 14μm.

Compared with similar thermal modules in the market, iLC212 provides superior image performance through intelligent processing algorithms, including Non-uniformity Correction (NUC), 3D Noise Reduction (3DNR), 2D Noise Reduction (DNS), Dynamic Range Compression (DRC), and Edge Enhancement (EE).

Frequently Asked Questions
What is infrared thermal imaging?
It is a method of using infrared radiation and thermal energy to gather information about objects to formulate images or acquire temperature data, even in low visibility environments.
What are the advantages of infrared thermal imaging?
Key advantages include seeing through total darkness, identification under camouflage, long-range detection, heat distribution analysis, and non-contact temperature measurement.
What is the difference between uncooled and cooled IR detectors?
Uncooled detectors operate at ambient temperature, are smaller, and cost-effective for portable devices. Cooled detectors operate at extremely low temperatures via cryocoolers, offering higher sensitivity for long-range missions but at a higher cost and size.
What is a thermal imaging module?
A module is the minimum unit of a thermal imaging device, consisting of an infrared detector, lens, hardware electronics, and embedded software/algorithms.
What does NETD stand for?
NETD refers to "Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference," measured in milli-Kelvin (mK). A lower NETD figure indicates higher thermal sensitivity and better distinction between small thermal differences.
What is WLP (Wafer Level Package)?
WLP is the process of completing high vacuum packaging directly on a MEMS wafer before cutting it into single detectors. It is designed for miniaturization and lower costs in consumer electronics.
