Product Description
COIN612 is one of the COIN series infrared modules. It integrates 640x512@12μm wafer level package (WLP) infrared detector, high performance signal processing circuit and image processing algorithm. The COIN612 infrared module features in sharp and crisp image presentation, compact size and low cost. It also has an optional thermographic function with measurement range from -20ºC~550 ºC for industrial temperature measurement.
Its lightweight and flexible features with various industry standard interfaces make it beneficial to OEM customers for secondary development and integration in all kinds of thermal imagers. Mature and stable infrared thermal imaging solutions make it easier for COIN series to be integrated into more terminal products and greatly reduces the cost for customers.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is infrared thermal imaging?
Infrared thermal imaging is a method of using infrared radiation and thermal energy to gather information about objects, in order to formulate images of them, or get temperature information of the objects, even in low visibility environments.
What is the advantage of infrared thermal imaging?
It allows for seeing through total darkness, identification under camouflage, long-range detection, heat distribution detection, and non-contact temperature measurement.
What is the difference between uncooled and cooled IR detectors?
Uncooled IR detectors operate at ambient temperature, are smaller, and lower cost. Cooled IR detectors require a cryocooler to keep them at extremely low temperatures, offering higher sensitivity for long-range missions.
What is a thermal imaging module?
A thermal imaging module consists of an infrared detector, infrared lens, and hardware electronics with embedded software and algorithms. It is the minimum unit of a thermal imaging device.
What is NETD?
NETD stands for Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference. It measures how well a detector distinguishes small differences in thermal radiation. Lower NETD values indicate higher thermal sensitivity.
What is WLP and its advantage?
WLP refers to wafer level package. It involves completing high vacuum packaging directly on the entire MEMS wafer, enabling miniaturization and lower costs for consumer electronics applications.
